Concert Bands

Grades 5-12

The Pipestone Band program consists of four concert bands: 5th, 6th, Junior, and High School Band. Each band performs four concerts annually, with the Junior and High School Bands also performing on Veteran's Day, Memorial Day, and Graduation. The High School Symphonic Band also participates in the Large Group Ensemble Contest annually. Members of Junior and High School band all participate in solo contests every spring semester. We are proud that all our students receive a private lesson regularly throughout the school year.

Marching Band

Grades 7-12

The Marching Arrows have a tradition of excellence, known throughout the Mid-West region of the United States. The Arrows have earned many awards in the last 20 years, competing in festivals in Minnesota, South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, and other nearby states. The Marching Arrows also travel extensively, having performed in Washington D.C., Florida, the Tournament of Roses Parade in California, the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade in New York City, and the Portland Rose Festival in Portland, Oregon. In recent years, the Marching Arrows have traveled to New York City, Boston, Memphis, St. Louis, and New Orleans.

Jazz Band

Grades 7-12

​Jazz Band is a before school program for students in grades 7-12. This is an auditioned group and members are selected based on these auditions as there are a limited number of spots. This group meets before school on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays from 7 to 8am starting in November after the conclusion of marching band season. This group performs at 3 band concerts in the winter and spring and performs competitively at regional Jazz Festivals.

Pep Band

Grades 7-12

The Pep Band plays home football and boys and girls basketball. Participation is open to all 7-12 students and helps a student qualify for yearly lettering requirements.

Colorguard

Grades 7-12

Students in grades 7-12 are eligible to participate in colorguard. There are two seasons of colorguard, summer/fall and winter/spring. Everyone can participate in winter/spring guard without an audition. Membership in summer/fall colorguard during the competition season is by audition. This audition will consist of showing fundamental guard skills. Colorguard during the summer/fall season performs and practices with the marching band.

Drumline

Grades 7-12

Percussion students in grades 7-12 are eligible to participate in drumline. There are two seasons of drumline, summer/fall and winter/spring. All percussion students can participate in winter/spring drumline without an audition. Membership in summer/fall drumline during the competitive season is by audition. Percussion instrument assignments are made by the director. Drumline during the summer/fall season performs and practices with the marching band.
